Swell Strategies conducted a feasibility
study that was the basis of our decision to move ahead with the development
of our new software product. Virginia's knowledge of the industry combined
with her understanding of running a successful business made me feel more
confident about our product's market potential, and we are moving towards
a launch later this year.

Swell Strategies is dedicated to honoring our social conscience. As such, we conduct the following activities to give back to the world: 1. We offset the carbon footprints of our employees, contractors and
clients using The
Carbon Neutral Company . For example, to counteract the
fuel we use, we support the construction of a small-scale hydro facility
in the south of India. The project harnesses the water flow in an existing
irrigation canal and feeds electricity into the local grid. By providing
renewable energy, the project helps to reduce India’s reliance on
fossil fuels for electricity generation. This project has none of the
environmental impacts sometimes associated with large-scale hydro projects,
as it does not involve any new dams or alterations to natural water courses. |

2. We donate 25% of our gross profits each year to small business microloan programs in developing countries. One of our favorite ways to do this is using Kiva, which provides us access to outstanding entrepreneurs from impoverished communities world-wide who are looking for small business funding. 3. We donate 25% of our gross profits each year into a fund we are building
to support economic and entrepreneurial redevelopment in Zimbabwe. Once
one of sub-Saharan Africa’s most prosperous and promising states,
Zimbabwe has suffered greatly at the hands of its President Robert Mugabe.
Swell Strategies’ Zimbabwe Project will educate entrepreneurs and
fund entrepreneurial endeavors in Zimbabwe upon the conclusion of Mugabe’s
reign. For more information on the situation in Zimbabwe, please view
this report from the Council
on Foreign Relations . |
